Fall 2003, The Matrix Revolutions’ credits are rolling and Jonathan’s eyes are still glued to the screen. At the tender age of 10, he knew he wanted to write movies. Even at a very early age, Jonathan could see words in live action as he read books.
Growing up in a single-parent home in the small town of Aulander, North Carolina can be really tough. Despite the struggles, he and his three brothers faced coming of age in a crime stricken town, Jonathan made a way through education, writing, spoken word, and music.
Jonathan takes his past experiences and ties them with what he’s experienced while going to college and being introduced to new environments in his writing. He’s quoted saying, “I just want to show people back home that nothing can limit them but themselves.”
Jonathan is currently earning his MFA at Academy of Art University (AAU), after getting his BA in English from Elizabeth City State University (ECSU).
Jonathan has written two films (Fish Out of Water and Caps) and acted in two films (Somebody New, Salty Milk Tea) as of 2018.
